Carol Wior started her clothing design company at the age of 22, out of her parent's garage in Arcadia, California with a budget of $77 and three second-hand sewing machines bought at auction.
The first Carol Wior design line featured classic, elegant and affordable dresses, which were hand-delivered to her customers in an old milk truck. Within one year of launch, major retailers were carrying Carol Wior designs making her one of LA's youngest fashion entrepreneurs and sending her well on her way to the multi-million dollar business Carol Wior is today.
Carol Wior's real success came however when she invented and patented the Slimsuit - a one-piece women's swimsuit that promised to take an inch or more off the waist and stomach while enhancing the bust and lifting the buttock area. The Slimsuit was patented by Carol Wior in 1990 and has become a staple in any plus size swim suit buyers closet.
