As Editor-in-Chief of Plus Model Magazine, Madeline Jones takes the “swimsuit challenge” and inspires woman with her insight and confidence. Smart, funny, beautiful, stylish and loved by thousands, Maddy has lead the revolution of body positivity with passion and grace for over 10 years.
In this month’s Plus Model Magazine, Maddy turns the confidence spotlight inward and shares her personal journey of embracing her body and what how she has found her “swimsuit confidence”. On a solo trip to Jamaica – Maddy sported a few of her favorite Always For Me swimsuits and cover ups to the pool and beach. With the anticipation and emotional soul searching of Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat, Pray, Love, Maddy has shared her body confidence journey.
“What I learned on this trip was that confidence is different for all of us. For some, it may mean having the confidence to wear red lipstick or dine alone; basically stepping outside of their comfort zone. It’s very easy to say you have confidence but a much different story when you put yourself under the microscope.” Madeline Jones
Across all cultures, ethnic and economic backgrounds body image is something women struggle with. And all though we have come a long way in embracing the beauty of diversity – woman of all colors, shapes and sizes continue to face anxiety when it comes to wearing a swimsuit in public. Everyone struggles with body image from time to time. Feeling good about yourself and your body is something that comes from within. We need to train ourselves to focus on celebrating our bodies and all they do for us. It is about positive self talk and sharing those positive experiences with others.
Feeling confident in a bathing suit isn’t about having a supermodel body or flawless curves. Confidence comes from feeling good about yourself and wearing clothes that fit you and make you feel comfortable. Confidence really is a personal journey that travels with us on so many levels. We all know the struggle is real when it comes to wearing a swimsuit, especially if your are plus size. We can’t explain how thrilled we are that Madeline feels comfortable and confident in Always For Me swimsuits and cover ups. We look forward to seeing her soaking up the sun again soon.
